Radiangames, the indie developer behind some of our favorite shoot'em ups on Xbox Live Indie Games, has released its first sequel and sixth title this year: Crossfire 2. This follow-up to the position-flipping fixed shooter adds "new mega-enemies, a massive upgrade system, multiple difficulty levels, and online scoreboards".
Luke Schneider, the THQ/Volition veteran who runs Radiangames, says that Crossfire 2's performance will influence his plans for 2011, noting that sales for his last XBLIG release, Fireball, were disappointing due to factors like the downloadable platform's recent rating changes.
"Though I'm sure I'm coming to the end of the monthly series of games, I'm not as certain about whether I'll continue making XBLIGs in 2011," says Schneider. "There will be other factors that will affect my decision, but if Crossfire 2 fails like Fireball, Inferno 2 is unlikely to get made anytime soon, possibly ever."
He adds, "So the moment of truth has arrived, at least for this chapter of Radiangames. There will be another chapter, and I know how some of it will go, but the rest depends on what happens over the next couple weeks."
